Was just wondering if there was, or is, any Skate UK element that you found particularly difficult (not that any of it's easy!).

I'm currently totally stuck on backward crossovers, but only in one direction!  It's sooo frustrating, especially as I'm pretty sure the problem is all in my mind. Unhappy

Backwards snowplough I found awful.  It's still not as good as I would likeit but coach at time said I would never use it.
Have since noticed an awful lot of skaters either turning to forward, or crashing into barrier when  needing to stop whilst skating backwards.  I wonder why?

Mohawks were the other thing I struggled with, just couldn't get head round changing feet.
Also hated bunny hop until I  got new  blades with bigger rakes. They make it so much easier.

Hi there, what grade are you at?

Only thing that really annoyed me were forward crossovers, I have thick solid thighs and getting into the proper crossover position was always a bit of a pain for me, but I got a passable enough crossover LOL

I lost my mohawks when I learned mohawk crosses, for a while everytime I went to do a mohawk I ended up going straight into the cross..... I'm an idiot haha

I'm just trying to get my feet round to doing Outside edge curves so I can go onto crossovers! They're my main target at the moment...

Do you not think maybe it would be better to continue them in lessons, where you have a coach to help iron out any problems you may have?

Unless as you say it's purely a mental block LOL

Salchows are quite annoying me at the moment.....I like having picks but they do get annoying when you don't know how to use them properly...

3-turns were the first hurdle for me, then it was mohawks.  Then I had a while where I was ok with things for a bit... Until we got to Salchow jumps.  I still manage to fluff those up sometimes!
