This might be a strange question to ask but what kind of injuries has anyone had?
Reason I'm asking is because on Sunday I fell and quite badly bruised my knees....It just made me wonder what other people might have gone through... |

Other than sore feet from new boots, I've been lucky so far!

My knees have took some slams in the past, my two worst falls doing forward crossovers.
The first one, doing crossovers in a circle, simply caught my toepicks and went straight over onto my knees, amazingly bad bruises all over the mofuggas.
The second one, same thing, caught toepicks. Except this time my shoulder slammed into the ice and I skidded for about 5 metres on it. My shoulder was pretty much out of action for a week. A few months later when it was still hurting, I was doing inside twizzles and fell backwards onto my THUMB!
That fall however stopped my shoulder from hurting.
I've seen face plants and concussions though not mind :)

Over the years on ice (30+) I've had badly bruised knees, mainly from when I was younger when I did some free. Still fall occasionally and get a bad bruise or sprain.
My dance skating partner (and wife) has managed a broken arm, badly bruised knees, sprains and a fractured skull - but we're still together and still skating. |

I managed to have my worst fall to date today...I'm not sure what happened myself, but I think I may have passed out after taking off from a jump, landed onto my toe pick, down onto my knees, onto my front and the side of my head whacked the ice. Twice.
![]() Either that or I seemed to have forgotten what happened from the impact and the shock of it all! But an instructor who was watching me said I did nothing to try and stop myself from falling... Nasty bruises ![]() |
